Start To SMILE
Start to SMILE is our sport delivery arm which started as a Sport England Inclusive Sport Funded project. We aim to create more opportunities for disabled people to take part in sport. We cover all four counties of the North East - delivering sessions in Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, Durham and Tees Valley.
Sports that we deliver include; athletics, basketball, boccia, cricket, dodgeball, kurling, table cricket, tennis, volleyball and sensory activities. All of which can be adapted and tailored to your requirements.
The Start to SMILE programme includes community sessions, friendly competitions, festivals, specific group or organisation sessions.

We organise community sessions across the region. These sessions are open to all and are ran as drop in, so no booking or commitment is required.
The community sessions are for adults, with a minimum age limit of 14 years. There is a participant fee of £3 per person per session.
Current community sessions are held in Stanley and Gateshead. More information about these sessions can be found on our What's On page
