Start To SMILE is a Sport England Funded Initiative
We applied for Inclusive Sport Funding in our first year of existence in 2014 and we were successful. As a result Start To SMILE was born - with 3 years of funding to grow sporting participation in the North East. Centered around the sports and activities of athletics, boccia, cricket and multi-sport, the project is aimed at people over 14 years old with a physical disability or mental health condition anywhere in the North East region. The project funding runs until 2017 but we hope to continue and grow Start To SMILE beyond this well into the future. Creating more opportunities for disabled people to take part in sport.
